We migrated to a new storage provider last night with minimal downtime (apart from live updated toots had broken images for a bit).

Here's how we did it:

* set up nginx proxy that tries new service, then old service if 404
* pointed CDN at proxy
* point uploads at new service
* copy ~50GB of media to new service
* ensure old service wasn't being hit anymore
* stop falling back on old service
* monitor
* point CDN to new service
* done!

Hi, trying to install tusks and am getting 'failure to authenticate' errors even before being asked for a password. Lingering issues from the upgrade, or have I borked something myself?
Thanks for all the hard work on Switter!

@london_david ok looks like its a problem with TLS compatibility. Your phone is too old to handle switters TLS config 😕 @j

@Tusky @london_david hmmm, not super keen on dropping the TLS version requirement as they're not secure... must be a super old phone to still be on 4.4.4!

@j no please don't drop the TLS version, we will stop supporting Android 4 soon @london_david

@j
Thanks. No, don't drop the TLS requirements.

The phone _is_ old, but not *that* old. I just need to reset my expectations on manufacturers de-supporting perfectly functional hardware *just* to make you buy a new one...
