I'm really not sure what to suggest at this point. I'm sure you can't change the wording of a White House #petition after 3,000+ people have signed it. But whoever feels they are leading this particular fight might consider looking into whether they can get it taken it down and start again. If that's possible, I will be the first to volunteer to help draft a new one.

@Amberly I don't have the bandwidth to take the lead on anything, but if it gets to a point where there's a genuine opportunity for another petition or a wide press release of some kind, I'll happily do what I can to help draft it.
@ToplessNewYork Thank you for stating this. What you wrote is the reason I haven't signed it or shared it and I know I'm not alone.
I've yet to email folks from SW orgs like SWOP or survivor orgs that opposed SESTA for their thoughts, but I personally think it'd be in our best interests if we draft a new petition, contact the author of the original to remove (and help share the new one), and start from scratch with a petition everyone can get behind.

I hope you'll understand when I say that because of how busy I am, I can't commit any time to drafting or to helping draft a new petition until and unless I know someone in a genuinely good position to do something about it agrees that a new petition is the way to go. I've no idea who that would even be, but I'm sure I'll know it if they contact me. 🙂

@ToplessNewYork Thank you for this read! I kinda feel bad having just hastily signed it myself now... I think there can be multiple petitions, maybe it is time to do press releases, contact XBIZ and VIVID and start a more legit one!
